Match report:

Mace v VMFC1

Sunday 28 October 2012

Two second half James Wilson goals saw Village come from 2-0 down to earn a well deserved point against Mace on Sunday.

Following the excellent performance against leaders Miam Miam Celtic the previous week, Jason chose to keep the same starting line-up. Village had by far the best of the first half, passing the ball well and creating several chances. However, it was Mace who went into half-time in the lead as Manchester switched off following a set piece.

The second half saw Mace up the tempo and have a strong 20 minutes where they doubled their lead and could have been out of sight if it hadn't been for two excellent saves from Craig. However, the final 25 minutes saw VMFC's passing game finally rewarded as Jay crossed low from the right of the area and the ball broke to James to halve the deficit. Then, with ten minutes to go, a long throw-in from Tom was flicked on and Wilson was again the man in the right place to make it 2-2.

The redevelopment of VMFC's first team continues to make progress and hopefully November will see draws progress into wins.
