Village Manchester got back to winning ways on 11 January as they saw off Deloitte 2-1 at the University Pitches.

 

Following the opening day loss in Village's first fixture of 2015, the team were eager to get a win under their belts and the result duly arrived on a cold and windy morning in Wythenshawe.

 

Crosby retained his place in goal with Archer, Connell, Wilson, Edwards and Fairbrother ahead of him. McNaught joined club stalwarts Ure and Clayton in the centre of the field with Irishman Mooney joining his fellow European Bolgar up front. Holmes and McGivern were on the bench.

 

Village had the better of the first half as they took a two goal lead into the break with goals from Derby County fan Wilson and Slovakian import Bolgar.

 

In the second half Deloitte halved the deficit to make the score 2-1 but despite the game getting a bit scrappy and argumentative, Village held on to the lead to grab their first three points of the year.
