Match report:

Deloitte v VMFC1

Sunday 18 January 2015

Village Manchester made it two wins in two games as they saw off Deloitte for the second time in consecutive weeks at the University Pitches in Wythenshawe.

Preston North End fan Crosby was between the sticks and McGivern, Connell, Wilson and Edwards were charged with helping him keep a clean sheet. Regulars McNaught, Ure, Clayton and Archer were in front of them with Bolgar and Mooney up top. Baker and Wain made up the bench.

As in the previous week's fixture, Village raced into a two goal lead as Bolgar, with assists from Mooney, put the team seemingly on course for another victory. Again, as in last Sunday's game, Deloitte pulled one back.

As the game wore on, neither team could get the next goal that could swing the tie.

That was until the final ten minutes when Mooney took the game by the scruff of the neck and decided it once and for all. He got a brace as Village doubled their lead and put an end to Deloitte's hopes.

The victory, in conjunction with the rest of the weekend's results, sees Village sit sixth in the ten team league.
