October 2016 featured player: David Hayes
One of the few genuine Mancunians in the club (not that that’s anything to brag about).
When did you join VMFC:
Former clubs, if any:
Crikey, University of St Andrews 3rd XI?
Greatest Village moment:
Winning the Yorkshire Cup.
What club do you support:
Favourite Village bar (if not your thing, say where is):
G.A.Y. - I like the way their door policy definitely isn’t offensive and illegal.
What do you do for a living:
Marine Engineering Officer (I work on ships).
Do you participate in any other sports:
Rugby and squash.
What else do you do to relax:
Current favourite song:
Black Widow by Iggy Azalea.
Current favourite TV show:
GoT!! How could anyone put anything else?
All time favourite film:
Single (I know right!!)
Favourite footballer (for football reasons):
David Beckham - class act on and off the pitch.
Favourite footballer (not for football reasons):
Wayne Rooney.......... lol, Robbie Rodgers.
Preferred position (on the pitch!):
Striker and other position that allow me minimal defensive responsibilities.
Describe your playing style:
I used to be fast and still haven’t come to terms with not being able to outrun every other player yet. Also people think I’m good in the air - I’m not!
Premiership player your style most matches:
Michael Owen at Man Utd (ie when he’d lost all his pace).
What made you want to try VMFC out for the first time?:
I knew zero gays in Manchester. How I long for those days now!!
Why should new players join VMFC:
It’s a social club where all abilities really are catered for and is a great way to meet a surprisingly diverse group of mates. Occasionally we play some footers too.
