Summer 2004
1) Munich. Thursday 29th July- Sunday 1st Aug 2004.The meeting on Sunday agreed to send a team to Munich. Graham Liver has agreed to organise the logistics of this. I think a small team will need to meet regularly to co-ordinate Munich. We will need maximum presence so please look at our diaries/budgets and start planning now. We have received a promotional DVD and we will hold a "taster evening" for international virgins soon!!
2) San Francisco. Sunday 1st Aug- Sunday 8th August. This is the IGLFA tournament that starts on the final day of Munich tournament!!!!
3) Manchester 2005. We are bidding to host the 2005 International Lesbian and Gay Football Association (IGLFA) world cup in Manchester in the week preceding Mardi Gras in 2005. Simon Wheale and I have been in discussion with Manchester Marketing and the IGLFA. The IGLFA have today accepted our letter of intent to bid. The deadline for the bid application is 15th March!!! and we have the list of requirements from the IGLFA. We are making a short presentation to the board of Pride 2004 which includes many leading lights in the village on Monday. Organisations we will be trying to include in the organisation at this stage are: VMFC, Greater Manchester FA, the Village Business Association (VBA), Manchester Marketing, the City Council and LGF. Others may be invited later. We will probably try and set up a bid committee from this meeting.
