The fair play scheme which Manchester Football Association introduced last season saw each League in Greater Manchester nominate a Club who they felt had a record of fair play both on and off the pitch. An independent FA panel assessed each of the Leagues nominations.

Village were presented with their prize at the Associations Annual General Meeting held on June 9th. The prize consisted of a full team strip, £200 towards club funds and a commemorative certificate.

Manchester Accountants League Secretary, John Wright said:

You always get a fast, clean game from Village made exciting by the fact that they have so many supporters. Fair play is difficult to define but if it encompasses enjoyable play then Village are worthy winners

Manchester FA Chief Executive, Jon Dutton said:

We felt it was important to continue with this initiative after last year’s success. The judging panel had a very tough time trying to decide the winners after the excellent nominations that we received. Village demonstrated a commitment to fair play both on and off the field and this just about put them in front of the other Clubs
